Why a maxi brick and not something else.
Faster construction
A square metre of single skin takes 33.3 maxis where stock bricks take 51.9, so a team lays the same area with a third fewer units to handle and place.
Reduced mortar consumption
Fewer joints per square metre means less mortar mixed, carried and struck. On a housing development that is a real line item.
Excellent structural performance
A 140 mm unit gives a single skin wall that carries load without a second leaf, which is why it dominates subsidised and affordable housing. Like our stock brick it is a nominal 7.0 MPa, so for the lower storey of a double storey, where SANS 10400-K calls for 10 MPa, ask us first.
Cheaper once labour is counted
